Tatiana Lozano Pereira, 32 ans, responsable d’un magasin de Cravinhos à São Paulo, vient d’être arrêtée au Brésil pour le meurtre de son fils. Elle avait d’abord évoqué « une fugue » pour justifier sa disparition depuis le 29 décembre dernier. Mais la dépouille calcinée de l’adolescent, identifiée grâce à un bracelet, a été découverte ce 7 janvier dans un champ de canne, près d’une autoroute et du domicile familial.
Décrivant un quotidien « sous l’emprise de la drogue », elle affirme qu’il était « en dérive » et « ramenait des hommes dangereux à la maison. » Il l’aurait en outre menacé, d’où son emménagement chez la grand-mère au lendemain d’une altercation à noël. Elle avait bien tenté ensuite une réconciliation mais, plaidant la « légitime défense », elle soutient qu’il était particulièrement agressif, à l’encontre notamment de son demi-frère de trois ans.
Les amis d’Itaberli en doutent. Son oncle également. Le jeune homme de 17 ans était impliqué dans son avenir et tout à fait incapable d’une quelconque brutalité. Il était au contraire harcelé par sa mère, qui déplorait son homosexualité. Craignant pour sa sécurité, il avait par ailleurs alerté les autorités et partagé un message le 26 décembre sur facebook, persuadé que sa mère allait engager quelqu’un pour le « passer à tabac ».

L’enquête semble le confirmer. Les deux individus ont été interpellés. Ils auraient effectivement été embauchés pour donner « une leçon » à l’ado trop gay. Tout était prémédité. Si ce n’est que dans l’extase des coups, la mère a réclamé qu’on l’achève. Ils ont refusé. Elle s’est précipitée pour abréger l’agonie de son fils avec un couteau de cuisine.
Elle aura ensuite transporté le corps dans un champ voisin pour « l’incendier », avec l’aide de son compagnon, le beau-père d’Itaberli. Confondus dans leurs déclarations, ils ont été placés en détention pour meurtre et recel de cadavre.

The woman, Tatiana Lozano Pereira, lured her 17-year-old son to the family home after a heated argument on Christmas Eve. Once in the house, Itaberli Lozano was reportedly ambushed by the woman and two thugs she had hired to beat her son up to « teach him a lesson. »
However, the woman changed course and ordered the men to kill the boy as he was lying on the floor, severely beaten. When they refused, she took a kitchen knife and stabbed him herself, authorities said.
Lozano Pereira, 32, told police that she removed the body from the house with the help of her husband, the boy’s stepfather, and took it to a cane field where they burned it.
Lozano’s charred body was found on Jan. 7. The mother reportedly admitted her part in the crime during the first interrogation, naming also the two men she had hired for the beating. Her husband was charged for his collaboration in disposing of the boy’s body.
According to his uncle Dario Rosa and other relatives, Lozano had long been rejected by his mother for his sexual orientation.
