La République tchèque a pris une décision historique en faveur de l’adoption par les couples de même sexe.
Le mois dernier, le tribunal de Prostejov a statué en faveur de l’adoption de jumeaux âgés de 10 ans par un couple homosexuel marié, vivant aux États-Unis.
Ils ont adopté les enfants alors bébés à San Francisco, mais dans la mesure où l’un d’eux est français, les jumeaux n’avaient pas obtenu la citoyenneté tchèque jusqu’ici.
Le père tchèque, directeur financier, a déclaré : « Maintenant, nous allons pouvoir découvrir et voyager à travers l’Europe plus facilement, et les garçons pourront également avoir accès aux écoles tchèques. Ils se sentent bien en République tchèque et aimeraient rester ici ».
La décision a été rendue possible par un changement de législation qui permet aux tribunaux tchèques de reconnaître les décisions étrangères en matière d’adoption, malgré l’opposition des Chrétiens démocrates.

The French father says it will make travelling in Europe easier
The Czech father, a financial director in the US, said: “Now we can be granted Czech citizenship, thanks to which we can move to the Czech Republic told local media.
“Our travelling across Europe will be easier and the boys will have their door to Czech schools open,” he continued.
“The twins feel very well in the Czech Republic and they would like to stay here.”
The ruling was enabled by a change in legislation, which allows Czech courts to recognise foreign rulings on adoption.
While a wide-reaching ruling on same-sex adoption is still to come, this decision, taking over three years to reach in US courts, provides a glimmer of hope to the gay community in the Czech Republic.
