La décision se veut en cohérence avec la décision de la Cour suprême, en juin, d’autoriser de nouveau le mariage homosexuel dans l’Etat.

Inmates in California prisons will be permitted to marry same-sex partners who are not incarcerated, state officials announced Tuesday. In a memorandum to wardens, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation stated that marriages between two inmates will not be permitted, due in part to “security concerns.” The policy, the memo said, was consistent with the United States Supreme Court ruling in June, which has allowed same-sex marriages to resume in California for the first time since 2008, when voters approved a statewide ban.
